Truths
- God is real
- All truth originates from God
- God is our Heavenly Father, and we are His children. As His children, our worth is infinite and eternal. Heavenly Father has a plan for all of His children collectively and for each of His children individually. He is aware of each of us and is involved in the details of our lives. He presides over the affairs of mankind in all nations. He has not left us alone. We must learn to trust in Him and have faith that all will be made right in the next life.
- Jesus Christ is the Son of God and our Savior. He paid the price for all of our sins and all of our shortcomings through His atoning sacrifice in the Garden of Gethsemane and upon the cross at Calvary. Without this infinite act of love, all mankind would be lost due to the demands of justice as we are all imperfect and fall short. Through Christ’s atonement, we may receive mercy and forgiveness on the condition that we obey His teachings and repent when we commit sin. It is only through Christ and His teachings that we can obtain our Heavenly Father’s blessings in this life and, ultimately, receive eternal life.
- The Holy Ghost is real. The Holy Ghost testifies of Jesus Christ and of all truth. The fruits of the Spirit (Gal. 5:22-23) are manifestations of the Holy Ghost. Through the Holy Ghost, we can know the truth of all things. Heavenly Father most often communicates to us through the Holy Ghost.
- Our Heavenly Father teaches us to pray to Him. He does hear our prayers. As we strive to learn and follow Christ’s teachings and commandments and sincerely ask for what we need, He will answer our prayers in His own time and in His own way and provide the counsel and blessings we desire.
- There is life after death. After death, there will be a final judgement of all mankind based on our faith and deeds performed during our mortal lives. Those who strive to live good lives and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ will be rewarded in the next life. Those who choose evil and choose not to follow the teachings of Jesus Christ will receive damnation in the next life.
- The Purpose of Life: As followers of truth, our hearts and our natures should be changed until we become like our Heavenly Father and His Son, Jesus Christ, full of light and love. Jesus Christ teaches us to be perfect, even as our Father in heaven is perfect. This would not be possible were it not for Christ, His life, His example, His teachings, His atoning sacrifice for all mankind, and His resurrection, all of which make it possible for us to become pure and holy and able to return to dwell in Their presence one day and have everlasting life.
- Evil is real. Satan exists. He seeks to pull us away from our Heavenly Father and His blessings that we may be miserable like him. However, Satan can have no power over us unless we give it to him through our choices.
- Our Heavenly Father instituted the traditional family in the very beginning when He created the first man and woman, Adam and Eve. They were married by our Heavenly Father, and they became man and wife and were commanded to have children. Men and women are created in the image of God. There are only two sexes and genders: male and female. Sexual relations are reserved for those couples who are married.
- Individuals, families, communities, and nations ultimately prosper and are blessed to the extent that they acknowledge the hand of God in their lives and follow biblical principles and Christ’s teachings.
